What to do when you are getting depressed

Ok...so you know what's going on now. Well, a little bit anyway. I know...I'm taking my time, but I want to make sure that if you are taking the time to read this that you are fully understanding that I'm just a real person like you. There's really not much more to say about depression, but I do want to leave you on this subject with some things to think about. If you are getting depressed what can you do about it. Have you ever thought about what to do to keep yourself out of this slump? There's lots of things you can do without making it a big deal to yourself or anyone else. Well, next time you feel yourself falling under the world think about these things and maybe a few more will pop into your mind.

Ok...first...if you feel like you need help or want help...get it. No question about it. If that's what you need, then that's it. Besides getting help though, there are many other things you can do to help the symptoms. Read...I love to read all kinds of books. Most will probably tell you that self-help books are better, but I read all kinds. Just about any kind of activities you enjoy....make a day full of them! When you get something done...pat yourself on the back...it's not easy when you're feeling down. Always remember that it will go away...it doesn't last forever. Keep your support system strong...get the support you need. Talk to someone that doesn't judge for as long as you need to. Listen to or help someone else. Anything spiritual that you may feel comfortable with. Exercise. If it's possible to get in the sunlight...get in it...it will always make you feel better...seriously!!! Stay away from the junk food...no sugar or caffeine. Buy something that you have wanted or something you would enjoy. Watch a funny movie or listen to music you like. Get dressed in something that makes you feel good. And, ladies, my personal favorite...take a long, hot bath. It works every time. If you're getting depressed, treat yourself. You are worth it, so don't avoid it...just do it.
